Jameson was a very good client and Chiat was a great agency to work on it. When I blurted out crazy off the wall ideas, both agency and client were very open to exploring them. The interactive digital billboards happened because there was to push to speak to people where they were. The print referenced the environment, like the subway or bus shelter. With this idea we addressed what we saw, and wrote the copy live. It was crazy fun -even more fun when it picked up some awards.
Another one of those ideas was to create an interactive banner that told the story of Jameson with animations.
I even reached out to the History channel and got them on board to do a Jameson segment on their show “How its Made” which we shot in Ireland. None of this would have happened without the full support of both agency and client looking to push ideas beyond the brief.
It's not unusual to see giant outdoor ads, but one that talks to you? We created this award-winning interactive billboard with one person running a projector and computer while I was changing the text to address what was happening on a New York street in real time.
Actual banner where you could type in anything and buy the shirt.

I pitched MTV with some colleagues of mine. The three of us went up against BBH and won the business. We deployed this campaign in print, digital and outdoor across the country. URGE was later acquired by Rhapsody.com and we broke up the band.

I put on my Art Director pants for this one.
